Chapter 2 Summary
While reading Chapter 2 I came across a few things I was unfamiliar with. Chapter 2 goes over the usage of emails. How we as consumers use an email program or app on a device to enter the email address, write the message and send it. However the chapter goes into the nitty gritty of what actually goes on. Protocols are used, networks send the message to a mail server, which are then sent to the internet. From the internet its sent back to the recipients mail server, then a local network is used and so on. It also tells us how to use an email and what each button corresponds to. What intrigues me though is the fact I rarely use any of these. For example I’ve never had to use BCC. I'm a young guy, but as I move up in my career I may need to be more involved in the emailing scene. As of now I only instant message or text. Emailing to me seems to be a more professional way of communication. I like instant responses though, that’s why if given the chance to either email or text, I’d choose texting any day. The Chapter also goes over the framework of Gmail. For example where to send messages, how to delete things and the use of internet etiquette.
